About Colonial Heights

Colonial Heights is a city located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, just south of the state capital of Richmond. The city was established in 1926 and is named after the Colonial Heights neighborhood in Richmond. Colonial Heights is known for its rich history and its many attractions, including the Colonial Heights Historic District, the Southpark Mall, and the Fort Lee Military Reservation. The city is also home to numerous parks and recreational facilities, including the Colonial Heights Municipal Park, the Fort Lee Historic Park, and the Colonial Heights Nature Center.
Colonial Heights is a vibrant community with a strong sense of pride and a commitment to preserving its history. The city is home to a variety of educational institutions, including Thomas Dale High School, Colonial Heights Middle School, and the Colonial Heights Public Library. There are also a number of churches, including the First Baptist Church of Colonial Heights and the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
