of Law
The Appalachian School of Law (ASL) is a private, non-profit law school located in Grundy, Virginia. Founded in 1994, ASL was the first law school established in the Appalachian region of the United States. ASL is known for its commitment to providing legal education to students of all backgrounds, as well as its emphasis on public service and community engagement.
The curriculum at ASL focuses on practical legal skills and ethical decision-making. Students benefit from the school’s small class sizes and close-knit community, which allows for more individualized instruction. Additionally, ASL offers an extensive clinical program in which students gain hands-on experience representing clients in real-world legal settings.
