About Sierra Vista
Sierra Vista is a city in Cochise County, Arizona, United States. It is located in the southeastern part of the state, approximately 80 miles southeast of Tucson. Sierra Vista is known as the “Hummingbird Capital of the United States” due to its location along the migratory path of the rufous hummingbird. The city is also home to Fort Huachuca, a U.S. Army post and the largest employer in the area.
Sierra Vista is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts due to its close proximity to the Huachuca Mountains, Coronado National Forest, and San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area. The area offers a variety of activities including hiking, camping, fishing, bird watching, and horseback riding. The city also hosts a number of annual events such as the Cochise Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering, the Sierra Vista Jazz and Blues Festival, and the Sierra Vista Open Disc Golf Tournament.
Sierra Vista is home to a number of attractions, including the Fort Huachuca Museum, the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, and the Ramsey Canyon Preserve. The city also boasts a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues, as well as a variety of hotels and resorts. With its beautiful scenery and wide range of activities, Sierra Vista is a great place to visit and explore.
