About George Washington Charter

George Washington was a Founding Father of the United States and the first President of the United States. He is known as the “Father of His Country” and is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in American history.
George Washington was born on February 22, 1732 in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He was the eldest of six children of Augustine Washington and his second wife, Mary Ball Washington. He was educated at home until the age of 16 when he was sent to school in England.
George Washington served in the Virginia militia during the French and Indian War, and was promoted to the rank of colonel in 1754. He was appointed commander-in-chief of the Continental Army in 1775, and led the American forces to victory in the Revolutionary War. After the war, Washington presided over the Constitutional Convention, which drafted the United States Constitution. He was elected president in 1789 and served two terms in office.
George Washington was a strong advocate of a strong central government, and his presidency laid the groundwork for the development of the United States as a nation. He was a proponent of religious freedom and tolerance, and established the precedent that presidents should serve only two terms in office. He also established the first presidential cabinet and the first presidential library.
George Washington died on December 14, 1799 at his home in Mount Vernon, Virginia. He is remembered as one of the most important figures in American history and is honored with a national holiday each February.
