About Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams was an American photographer and environmentalist best known for his black-and-white landscape photographs of the American West. His work helped to establish photography as an art form and inspired the environmental movement. Adams was born in San Francisco, California in 1902. He began taking photographs at the age of 14, and by the age of 17 had already developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the American West. He spent much of his life exploring and photographing the region, creating iconic images of Yosemite National Park, the Grand Canyon, and other wilderness areas. Adams was also an advocate for environmental conservation, and his work helped to bring attention to the need for protection of America’s natural resources. His photographs are still widely admired today, and his legacy continues to inspire photographers and environmentalists alike.
