About Copper Basin
The Copper Basin is an area in the U.S. state of Arizona, located in the northeast corner of the state. It is surrounded by the White Mountains, the Mogollon Rim, and the San Francisco Peaks. The Copper Basin is known for its unique geology and diverse landscape, as well as its rich history of copper mining.
The Copper Basin is home to a variety of wildlife, including mule deer, elk, bighorn sheep, and mountain lions. The area also has many different bird species, including bald eagles, hawks, and owls. The Copper Basin is a popular destination for nature lovers, hikers, and campers.
The Copper Basin is also home to the largest copper mine in the United States, the Morenci Mine. The mine produces copper, gold, silver, and molybdenum, and is one of the largest employers in the area.
The Copper Basin has a long history of copper mining, and many of the old mining sites are still visible in the area. The Copper Basin is also home to several historic sites, including the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation and the Tohono O’odham Nation.
