About Kokhanok School

Kokhanok School is a small rural school located in the village of Kokhanok, Alaska. The school serves approximately 50 students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. The school is part of the Lake and Peninsula Borough School District. Kokhanok School has a strong emphasis on culture and language. The school offers Yup’ik language classes as well as traditional Yup’ik cultural classes. The school also has an active student council, which organizes various activities and events throughout the year.
The school has a variety of extracurricular activities that students can participate in. These include basketball, volleyball, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. The school also offers a variety of clubs, such as art, photography, drama, and robotics.
